Social Responsibility

NHN strives to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities to make a better society. We are crafting NHN's unique CSR actions and donation culture by encouraging members' voluntary and active participation.

Contribution to Local Community

We believe that the growth of the local community leads to the growth of NHN. We spare no efforts in promoting win-win with the local community and sharing activities that can contribute to the local community.

  • Sharing PC

NHN is running a PC Sharing Campaign for donating high-performance PCs to institutions to better support learning and foster young generation IT talents. In the 1H of 2022, we donated a several PC sets to the Seongnam City Youth Foundation and Dong-Eui University in Busan to promote a win-win with the local community by improving the IT education environment and fostering talents. Donated PCs are those used by NHN employees for work and were carefully selected and neatly organized for the secondhand use. It also was a meaningful event as it showed our dedication in engaging in eco-friendly activities through recycling resources.

  • Kot-shin Village Kitchen

'Kot-shin' is an abbreviation for ‘blooming trust' in Korean. We started a social contribution project to help the elderly to form a social relationship, enjoy stable diet and promote cognitive health based on the trust of the local community,
using the cooking facilities of public service organizations as shared kitchens. Since its opening in 2018 at Seongnam, 288 elderly participants have joined our
    3 Kot-shin projects.

  • Occasional Donation to Local Community

NHN regularly donates the assets remain unused and materials at the lost and found in the company to the local communities. In 2019, as part of improving the educational environment for the underprivileged, we donated 120 idle assets such as PCs and monitors to the Jeonnam Children's Center and donated 149 bicycles and in-house found items that have passed the storage period to the Beautiful Store. We also continue to donate remaining breakfast box provided to its members to the Seongnam Open Food Market. 3,700 sandwiches and gimbap worth a total of 5.8 million won were donated for the underprivileged as of year 2021.

Participatory Donation

Little Action

As NHN’s in-house sharing campaign aimed at creating a great joy through small actions, a total of 1,000 employees participated in social contribution activities in various fields such as helping the underprivileged, donating blood and promoting eco-friendly lifestyle. 'Action badges' with unique design were presented to participants for each activity, and rewards are given to 'Little Action Masters' who joined all the 5 Little Actions and collected five badges to keep employees engaged. NHN plans to expand the Little Action program for employees for a more active and consistent engagement in 2022.

  • Matching Grant Donation

NHN is committed to taking the lead in spreading the good-will spirit of donation by supporting donations when members voluntarily donate as much as they want. Through a special event called ‘the matching grant,’ about 300 members participated in the donation to help those affected from the forest fires in Gangwon and Gyeongsangbuk-do in 2022, and a total of 50 million won was raised along with the company's additional donation to the amount raised by members.
